Common defects in stamping elbow processing

The common defects in processing stamped elbows are as follows:

(1) Distortion of cross-sectional shape: During the bending process of pipes, if corresponding measures are not taken (such as filling materials inside the pipe or placing core rods for support), the cross-section of the bent pipe is prone to become elliptical without internal support.

(2) Thinning or wrinkling of wall thickness: From the perspective of deformation mechanics, excessive tensile stress in the plastic ring can cause the outer side of the elbow deformation to be stretched and thinned, and excessive stress can lead to pipe rupture. On the contrary, the thickness of the inner wall at the deformation site will overlap, and in severe cases, it will wrinkle. This situation usually occurs in stamped elbows with thicker walls.
